OUR PEÑA IS ON NETFLIX

Our Peña is becoming more and more famous, which is why our president received an invitation from Netflix a few days ago to participate in a documentary about Atlético de Madrid. We couldn’t miss this opportunity, so after consulting the members present in Madrid, we decided to participate without hesitation.

The date was Sunday, October 28th. We met around noon at Plaza Callao. The Netflix staff first collected personal information and had us sign a privacy consent form. Then, we all introduced ourselves. In total, there were about 20 people, including 7 members of our Peña. There were also people from Spain, Germany, Colombia, Venezuela, and even the Cuban president of the Peña.

The filming then began on Gran Vía with singing fans in front of the Atlético store on a train towards Metro Callao. Many people shouted “Aupa Atleti” to us and recorded videos. After that, we continued towards Sol with more shots in front of the Bear statue and the subway entrance. Then, we made our way to Plaza Mayor, which was supposed to be the final stop of the fan parade.

While we sang our songs here, people with Atlético scarves from the UK and Lithuania joined in. Atlético is connecting internationally! The day ended in a restaurant on Plaza Mayor with beer, squid sandwiches, and the typical Madrid-style tripe. Overall, it was a very enjoyable event where our Peña could once again showcase many of its members.
