PEÑAS DAY 2025: LAUGHTER, PAELLA, THE BOOK AND FOOTBALL!

On September 13, as every year, the long-awaited Atlético de Madrid Supporters’ Clubs Day took place, and of course, our peña was there. A group of our members showed up at the Metropolitano, full of excitement, ready to enjoy themselves, socialize, and above all, have fun. And fun we definitely had…
Right from the start, the atmosphere was amazing. Between hugs, greetings, and the occasional “¡qué pasa, máquina!”, there was that special energy that only appears when the true Atlético family comes together. Kids ran around, the adults caught up with old friends, and for a few hours, we all felt like we were in our little red-and-white paradise.
And, as always, the paella made its appearance. Once again, fantastic. Anyone who thought they could survive on churros and coffee quickly realized otherwise—it was a dish that seemed made by a superchef. Between bites, we chatted about the club, new and old peñas, and planned future stadium trips. Because let’s be honest, part of the magic of these gatherings is being able to talk about football without anyone looking at you funny.
This year, there was an extra special highlight: the charismatic Jaime offered a spot for selling the now-famous book MERECE LA PEÑA. And, as expected, book sales skyrocketed that day, turning the stand into a real meeting point for peñistas from all over. Between photos, conversations, and signings, the atmosphere was full of excitement and Atlético pride, making the book one of the undisputed stars of the day.
But that wasn’t all. We also enjoyed rides and live music, courtesy of the Metropolitano Rock Band at the Brindis. Those of us who thought we were just there to eat and chat ended up singing and dancing at full volume, some discovering hidden talents (or at least very entertaining ones). Laughter was nonstop, and we even found ourselves queuing for rides like we were ten years old again.
And as the cherry on top: the match against Villarreal. After a few disappointing attempts, our patience was finally rewarded: the first victory of the season! Cheers, hugs, and spontaneous celebrations spread across the stadium and within our peña. Some counted goals like kids with trading cards, while others tried to remember if they had screamed “yes!” too loudly and lost their voices.
In short, Peñas Day 2025 was everything we hoped for—and more: great food, endless laughter, music, rides, the book MERECE LA PEÑA, and to finish, an unforgettable win for our team. As always, our peña showed that football isn’t just lived from the stands, but with joy, humor, and, why not, a few impromptu dances to the rhythm of red-and-white rock.
So mark your calendars: September 13, 2025, is a day to remember. Between the paella, hugs, the success of MERECE LA PEÑA, and the goals, we’re reminded once again that being Atlético is not just a feeling—it’s an ongoing celebration, and we wouldn’t miss it for the world.
