### THE EUROCUP SATISFIED OUR CRAVING
When the League ends, we all have the same thought: What do I do now without football? Almost two months without seeing the ball roll feels eternal, but there are summers (like this one) where an international tournament satisfies our craving.
This year, the Eurocup was held in Germany, and in our supporters’ club, we have followers of various national teams. For once, we swapped our red and white jerseys for those of the teams we support and got ready to enjoy the tournament.

INDIANS AGAINST HORNETS
When the Champions League draw came out and it was announced that Atlético de Madrid would play against Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals, we, as the Peña Atlética de Alemania, jumped for joy. Finally, Atleti was coming to Germany Since we became an official peña, we hadn’t had the luck of hosting our team here, and we took it as a gift and an unparalleled opportunity to show how great our peña is.

MY RED-AND-WHITE GODFATHER
Not everyone is as lucky as I am. Because everyone (or almost everyone) has a godfather, but mine is red-and-white. One of the real ones, one of the cool ones.
I know he has many godchildren, and when he first became my godfather, I wasn’t very aware of what was coming my way. When I first offered him my arm to walk down the stairs to the auditorium at the Metropolitano, I was very clear that I could learn many things from him.

WE BELIEVE
When ‘Creyentes’ told us about their initiative to hang the banners of the supporters’ clubs in the Metropolitano, our club didn’t hesitate for a moment: from the beginning, we were very clear that our banner should be there, adorning and bringing color, spirit, and presence. We joined this initiative because we are convinced that the banners are the veins through which the blood of the supporters’ clubs flows, and these are, in turn, the heart of any team.

FOOTBALL IS ALSO A WOMEN'S THING
Today, March 8th, International Women’s Day, we celebrate, among other things, that women can enjoy football with total normality. Not many years ago this was considered odd, that a woman liked football was something “unfeminine”, for “machos”.
We have come a long way, and there is still a long way to go. We as fans notice it in many aspects, for example when we go to a stadium and among the security guards at the entrance controls, eight are men and only three are women.

The Three Wise Men Have Arrived!
The essence of a supporters’ club lies not only in attending games together or assisting its members but also in representing Atlético de Madrid and honoring its name. A few months ago, we learned coincidentally that there are some avid Atleti fans among the students in the 4th grade of the public school CEIP “Ntra. Sra. de las Nieves” in La Zarza (Badajoz).
We came up with the idea that we could bring them some joy, and when Christmas arrived, our supporters’ club decided to write to the Three Wise Men so that they could leave them a red-and-white gift on our behalf.

The birth of this website
www.rojiblancos.de has just been born. The new meeting place for all Atlético de Madrid fans in Germany.
This website was created with the intention of bringing together Atleti fans living in Germany or related to Germany.
The aim is to bring new ideas and freshness to the existing options. To offer a meeting point to enjoy Atleti, whether on the journey or through our different communication channels.
The next step is to create the ‘Atleti’ fun club Peña Atlética de Alemania.

The 'Previa' of our Supporters' Club on Television
As is customary for our away trips, the Peña Atlética de Alemania is always present many hours before the matches, in what is colloquially known as the “Previa” (eng. “pre-match gathering”). In this case, this meeting was organized in a pub in the city of Dortmund where the Champions League match between Dortmund and Atleti was taking place. More than 60 Atlético supporters from our club or friendly clubs attended this gathering.

Carmen and the Peña Atlética de Alemania in 'Mundo Deportivo'
The sports newspaper ’Mundo Deportivo’ echoes the story of the ‘Peña Atlética de Alemania’, with the main thread being the personal story of Carmen, our president and co-founder of the Fan Club. A club that has revitalized the enthusiasm for Atlético Madrid in Germany.
In the article, the passion of the club members, both Spanish and German, for the “colchonero” team and their participation in all Champions League matches is highlighted.

INTER-ATLÉTICO: ITALY OFFERED A SHAMEFUL SPECTACLE
For many fans, watching a match in Italy is a dream. For those of us who have been more than once, it remains a game of chance: Italians are unpredictable in their game and in their organization. Fourteen members of the Atlético de Madrid Fan Club from Germany decided to tempt fate and continue to make our fan club the most dynamic in this country, so we requested the tickets with the assurance that they would be granted to us, and we all marked February 20th on our calendars as “destination Milan.

Enamorados del Atleti ...
Football has those things: one falls in love with a team without even having visited the city of its origin. This happens to some members of our Peña. They are members of Atlético de Madrid without having visited their stadium, distant fans, at heart, who would like to see more live matches but cannot for various reasons.
When, on the occasion of the First Meeting of European Atlético Peñas, a delegation from Atleti visited us in Cologne, this situation became evident during the talk with the peñas, and the Club’s representative showed great generosity by inviting all members of our Peña who had not yet visited our stadium to the match against Lazio.

Trip to Rotterdam
Second-to-last match of the Champions League group stage, and it was Feyenoord from Rotterdam’s turn. Back in August, when the draw was made and Feyenoord came up, I thought this would be a good trip. I had been to the Netherlands before, sure, but never to Rotterdam.
Said and done. The three of us, Javi, Edu, and me, were on our way, and as always, I had the longest journey. It’s the drawback of living in Paradise.

Remembering the Heroes of '74
At last, the day had arrived!
This time, the meeting was in Glasgow, and it was the first major trip organized by our new supporters’ club. A good number of members decided to attend a match that was expected to be historic: it marked the 50th anniversary of the famous “Battle of Glasgow.” Our flight departed very early from Cologne to Edinburgh. There, we met up with Rubén and Maribel, who did land from Madrid two hours later.

III International Congress of Peñas in Badajoz
We had known for some time about the celebration of the III International Congress of Atlético Madrid Peñas in Badajoz. Our president headed there to collaborate in the organization of the event and, above all, to represent our Peña. The event was organized by the International Union of Peñas under the sponsorship of Cívitas and took place on the 14th and 15th of October.
On Friday, we traveled there to begin organizing everything.

The Day of the Peñas 2023 - Our Day
When we were officially born as an Atletico de Madrid Fan Club on April 26, we had a triumphant entrance, through the grand door, and with a red carpet. We only lacked written confirmation, and it arrived on October 8 in a manner just as spectacular as half a year ago, no less than from Don Enrique Cerezo, the President of Club Atletico de Madrid.
We departed from Germany the day before, and on Sunday, the day of the Diploma ceremony, we headed to the Metropolitano Stadium, with a little issue involving our Uber driver.

TODAY WE INTERVIEW: CARMEN GARCÍA, PEÑA AT. DE ALEMANIA
From Cologne, the president of the Peña Atlética de Alemania shares her outlook on life in red and white, discusses the reality of peñistas outside of Spain, and assesses the “I Encuentro de Peñas Europeas.”
Carmen García can’t imagine life without Atleti. She never has, despite the kilometers, flights, and round trips. At nineteen, she set course for Cologne to follow the path her Spanish immigrant parents had traced in ‘60 and retraced in ‘67, when she was born.

I European Atlético Fan Clubs Meeting
Sometimes, fan clubs come up with ideas that initially seem utopian, but when the International Union of Fan Clubs (Unión Internacional de Peñas) and Club Atlético de Madrid collaborate, everything becomes easier.
One of these ideas was to shape a project that had been in mind for a while but had never been carried out: a Meeting of European Atlético Fan Clubs. The number of fan clubs representing us beyond national borders is growing, and the goal of this meeting was to give them a voice and visibility, and, above all, to make them feel part of the red-and-white family.

Our Peña is on Netflix
Our Peña is becoming more and more famous, which is why our president received an invitation from Netflix a few days ago to participate in a documentary about Atlético de Madrid. We couldn’t miss this opportunity, so after consulting the members present in Madrid, we decided to participate without hesitation.
The date was Sunday, October 28th. We met around noon at Plaza Callao. The Netflix staff first collected personal information and had us sign a privacy consent form.

About the Atletico Madrid Fan Club in Germany.
Creating a new fan club for a sports team is always a challenge, especially when it’s abroad. Those of us who embarked on the adventure of creating a new Atletico de Madrid fan club in Germany knew from the start that it wouldn’t be easy, but we got to work anyway.
One of the things that was most difficult for us to decide was the name. There were many ideas (some as original as “Peña Ribera del Rin,” a nod to the Manzanares River), but soon we were sure that we wanted a name that perfectly described what we wanted to be, without any adornments or adjectives that could lead to confusion.

THE PEÑA ATLÉTICA DE ALEMANIA AND THE 120th ANNIVERSARY OF ATLETI.
April 26th was an important day for Club Atlético de Madrid as it celebrated its 120th anniversary. For the Peña Atlética de Alemania, it will also be a day to remember as we became an official fan club on that day. It was not a coincidence: we thought it was the perfect day to start our official status and Atlético de Madrid helped us make it happen. The day before, I was surprised by a phone call that at first I took as a joke: as the president of the fan club, they invited me to watch the match against Mallorca from the VIP box, and hinted at a surprise that they wanted to keep secret.

Atleti en Femenino
We attended the 1st ‘ATLETI EN FEMENINO’ Event. Last Thursday, we were invited by the Las Colchoneras and Los 50 fan clubs to the first Women’s Atleti event.
Carmen, the president of the Athletic Club of Germany, attended the Metropolitano and enjoyed a magnificent afternoon which we detail in the following link.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the kind invitation and congratulate the organizers on the success achieved.

We are the Queens of the Queen's Cup.
In this fan club, we trust our players, even before qualifying for the Queen’s Cup final (by the way, I suggest changing the name of the competition because Letizia is not there nor is she expected to be, her contempt is absolute).
The first thing I did when entering the stadium was to hang our flag. Derbies raise many passions, and I saw that in the stands. The audience was mixed and committed, and when the game started, it was already drizzling.

After the "derbi"
I am screwed, like everyone today, and my escape is to write and get the anger out of my chest.
We were foolish to think that we could move on even knowing that we were playing against the whole universe. The pre-match was already warning us: on their field, on Thursday instead of Wednesday because it suited them better, with tickets rationed, the press acting as their cheerleaders, and to top it all off, that hanging banner that at the last minute served to heat up what was already boiling.
